FROM THE PEN OF....
A few years back, I was introduced to this woman via her job as Internet Publicist for her friend Author Nina Bruhns. As Nina wrote and put out a profusion of great books, I had continued contact with Kate as the reviews were requested. We soon became friends, and she hesitantly allowed me into her sumptious and magnificent world. It was here, where her character's bloom and her love of life shines that I learned who the REAL Kate Hofman was, and still is because she retains to this day that delectable spirit and that thirst for life. She has matured in her writing, and is every bit as prolific in her ideas and in her completed works. Her spirit and joie de vivre infuses all her writing, and I truly hope you will enjoy her world, and her works, as much as I do. Believe me when I say there is a whole lot more of these delicious reads to come From the Pen of Kate Hofman!

When he was twenty, and after an idyllic summer spent with his childhood sweetheart Alexis, Jason Thalassinos was forced by his domineering and irascible father into returning to Yale, where he is engaged in taking courses in business administration. When he is finally able to return to Greece on his own, inheriting from his grandparent and now a multimillionaire in his own right, Jason is unable to track her down because there is no trace of Lexi to be found anywhere. Heartbroken and battered by his discovery, Jason settles into a mundane, meaningless, and loveless life. Bored with the comapany he is forced to keep and drifting from one place to another, Jason nevertheless retains his compassionate spirit and settles into a marriage of convenience with his sister-in-law's mother. Alicia is an older woman, depressed and distraught with the knocks life has delivered, but not even marriage to Jason and his loving, giving, and generous nature can prevent her suicide, shattering his life yet again.
Nine years later, Jason finds Lexi again. This time, it is through his brother Raphael, who had no knowledge of Jason's love, nor of the true circumstances of thier parting. Raphael is angry at the misconception Alexia has had him under for all these years, and the fact she kept Jason's son from him. When it was clear he would have, and did everything in his power to find her, it made Raphael feel even worse, and he throws everything he has behind Jason's suit. Lexi, however, had everything at her finger tips, and her knowledge comes as a betrayal to both Jason and Raphael. She is not at all pleased with Raphael, and continues to take out much of her anger at the situation she has put herself in on Jason. Her actons don't make the thorny path of love for these two star-crossed lovers any easier, and as Alexia continues to try to pull Jason from his son's side, he lays down the rules. She has no choice but to surrender to his wishes, or lose the son she so jealousy and arrogantly guards.
Now, with Jason back in the picture, and with the threats he can so easily carry out hanging over her head, Alexia has to face some hard realities. Ultimately there are some necessary questions needing to be answered for the pair to be happy. Can Alexia change her attitude toward Jason and accept his proposal, or will she continue to thwart his efforts to get to know his son, and succeed in breaking up what could be a promising new beginning? Will Jason's love win out or will Alexia's jealousy and manipulative behavior win the final battle and drive Jason and her son away?

Zale Giannis and Livia Hamilton had their problems, but they were not all that great compared to some. They loved deeply, and were both looking forward to the wedding come April. There was, however, one force in Zale's live who would not be ignored, and that was in the form of a rich, malicious, and overbearing grandfather. The man was determined to break the couple apart, and when the opportuity arose, he wasted no time in poisoning the relationship. Using an inflated set of excuses, he preyed on and forced the couple apart, finally using Zale's mother as a wedge, and running Zale off to her side as she faced impending surgery. He is incensed by the nefarious ploy, and forces the papers to print retractions of the lies, however, when he returns home, he finds it is too late. Livia is gone.
When some very telling pictures accompanied by a wedding announcement appeared with the grandfather's statements in the papers, Livia feels forced away. She decides she has to leave, and runs from the humiliation brought about by the machinations of his malevolent grandfather. Livia flees to her sister Hillary in Ocean Breeze, Florida, leaving only a couple very sparse clues as to where she went. Zale engages his private security force to find her, and as they work tirelessly, they find Livia has covered her tracks well. Finally, after six months of desperate tension on his part, Zale's people find Livia, and also inform Zale of unexected news. It seems as though Livia is now in her seventh month of pregnancy. Zale wants answers to some pretty burning questions by this point, and he isn't certain he will like the answers. Why did she leave, why didn't she answer the phone, and why didn't she trust him are among the major things bothering him. Will they ever be able to find their way back to each other?

How can she prove to Zale she is worthy of his love, and his trust? Livia realizes how her foolishness squandered their beautiful relationship, and realizes, IF she is ever to get it back, she has to acknowledge her selfishness, her mistakes, and her fears. Can she do it for her child and her love or will she lose all?

Handsome Devil showcases Julian Fantechi on the cover. My grateful thanks to Julian, who brought my Handsome Devil to life so perfectly! From a marriage of convenience to true love...can it be for real?
Life was good for Jason Gianaris. He was wealthy, successful in his many businesses, and adored by many women of his acquaintance. There was, however, only one thorn in his side, and that was his grandfather. As he sat with his long legs stretched out luxuriously, he pondered the events, and the quirks of fate that led him to this impasse. He also found it rather disconcerting that Chiara Lee, his personal assistant, knew him so well she could accurately guess what he was going to say or do. She was adept at handling the small crises in his life, and could be counted on to do so with grace and aplomb, leaving him free for the more demanding and complex decisions of running his vast business empire. She was a prize of great value, and Jason never got used to having Chiara at his beck and call. Now he was facing a crisis of an entirely different sort. His demanding grandfather, inspite of all Jason's hard earned personal wealth and status, was again nagging him to marry for money. Not only that, but the woman of his grandfather's choice was eminently unsuitable to Jason's taste. Jason prefers a strong woman, independent and with a mind of her own. Eleni is far from that as she is clingy and obsessive to the point Jason wonders if she is all there mentally.
Chiara Lee is devastated at the many nasty pranks and machinations of Jason's grandfather. She is well aware, as is Jason, of the lengths to which he will go to force Jason into a marriage that suits him and his greed. All the threats of cutting Jason off from the family wealth and of disinheritance, however, cannnot move Jason, for he is a billionaire many times over in his own right. Chiara is well aware of Jason's likes and dislikes in women, and from many previous discussions, she knows pushing Jason toward a desired goal must be done with finesse, using an appeal to his intellect, not brute force. When Jason proposes a marriage of convenience to her, however, she almost thinks he has lost his very logical and highly intelligent mind. There is only one thing about the situation that Jason should never find out. Her acceptance of his strange proposal hides a precious secret she cannot ever let him know. Deep inside, Chiara Lee knows she has been truly in love with Jason Gianaris for a long time.
Handsome Devil tells the story of Jason and Chiara, and how they are willing to go to any lengths to free Jason from the obsessive clutches of Eleni and his grandfather. However, to escape these predations, and in settling for a marriage of convenience to Chiara, Jason just might have stumbled on the one woman he needs, the only woman he can love, and the very woman haunting his dreams. It is also about their fight to stay together, and be alowed to luxuriate in the respect and love they have for each other.

My thanks to Julian Fantechi, who made an absolutely wonderful spirit, with his ever so deep and serious gaze and his larger than life energy.
Come with three wonderful authors as they explore a realm others might wish to leave well enough alone. In Only in Spirit, we meet three stories delightlfully filled with ghosts, some revenge, but always with love.
In Only in Spirit, the title tale by Kate Hofman, we meet a beautiful and special young woman named Bianca Sainte-Antoine. She is alone, but never thought much about it before the night she left to head to her friend's Halloween Party. On the way she was accosted by four young men just looking for trouble, and when they crossed her path intent on rape, she fought back.
She might not have won either if it hadn't been for the interference and help from a mysterious benefactor named Armand de Lavigne. He was handsome, mystertious, and most unusual in his choice of guests and entertainments. Actually who Monsieur de Lavigne was and what he was was an eye opening experience, one that may either scare Bianca away from him, or bring her back into his sphere forever...

My thanks to Peter DeCicco, who made my hero, Marco Alvaréz, come to life, with his ever so deep and serious gaze and his bare chest.
Hidden Desire is the sequel to A Fire Burns Deep, which was Brent and Lara's story - published in July, 2008.
Alyssa Charlton works at the St. George Art Gallery In Ocean Breeze Florida. She is happy for the most part working for Tom and Jeff as a cataloguer and biographer. She is busy writing the catalogue and bio of the intriguing artist, Marco Alvaréz, when he comes strolling into the gallery. The pair are immediately thunderstruck with each other, and Tom, the gallery owner and an inveterate matchmaker, invites them for Saturday brunch and a swim. Marco issues his own invitation to Alyssa, to have dinner with him. Alyssa accepts, and very soon, passion flares between them. Alyssa asks Marco to stay, to spend the night and his desire burns anew. However, when Alyssa wakes, he is gone. Puzzled and hurt, she hears from Tom that Marco left a note saying he has to return to Phoenix to deal with something, and he'll be back the next day. But Marco does not come back, does not send word.
What Tom and Alyssa couldn't possibly know is that on his way back from breaking with a casual girl friend, Marco has been the victim of a drunk driver, and in a serious accident. His injuries are not severe, but head trauma has left a gaping hole in his memory. Marco’s amnesia greatly disturbs him as he has a feeling he has left something precious behind somewhere. His doctors promise him memory will returns slowly, and when he regains his memories of Ocean Breeze, he instantly phones Alyssa. When Marco phones, he speaks to Duane Fairchild, a friend of Alysssa’s who tells him Alyssa is at the doctor's. She is enduring a first pregnancy which is often a bit troublesome. Marco replaces the receiver, devastated, not knowing that Alyssa has moved to larger quarters, renting her loft to Duane while he recovers from a knee injury and a bad relationship. In Marco’s eyes, obviously Alyssa has not waited, and he has just spoken to the father of Alyssa's child. Marco goes on a painting trip in the Rockies -- hoping to forget the crushing pain of what he sees as Alyssa's betrayal.
Through twisted family relationships, Brent’s wife Lara discovers she is Alyssa’s half sister. This tie to Alyssa disturbs Laura greatly, and pushed by a feeling of deep betrayal, she takes out her frustrations on her friend and newly found sister. Also in the mix, is Marco's mother, who has her heart set on marrying him to the daughter of a friend who happens to be a wealthy and influential French Countess. She is livid at the thought of him being interested in a common woman who works in an art gallery. She brings her considerable power and influence to bear on derailing whatever there might be between the two. With all these things added to Marco’s misunderstanding of Alyssa’s friendship with Duane, and the pair is on for a rocky road.
Will Laura come to terms with Alyssa? Will Marco’s mother succeed in destroying her son's chance at happiness?
“Author Kate Hofman continues to demonstrate her flair for what 17th-18th century French literature valued as the comedy of farce. In Ms. Hofman's novels, however, the misunderstandings common to her hero and heroine (and usually obvious to their friends and loved ones) are seriously detrimental and life-changing. Any reader looking for heartfelt romance, a hero and heroine suffering courageously through trials and tribulations, and deeply held friendships will value any of Ms. Hofman's novels, each of which is a treasure and a joy to read.” read the entire Dark Angel review by Frost
“Ms. Hofman writes fine romances with handsome and sensitive heroes and strong and very feminine heroines. This is no exception. Marco is the perfect Latin Lover type, but very sensitive. Alyssa seems a bit submissive at first, but is tough where it counts. I enjoy the fact that the author revisits the same community in her stories and that so many of the characters are familiar. It is like visiting with old friends. The love story here is passionate and complex and a little melodramatic, in a good way. I really enjoyed it.” read the entire Coffee Time review by Maura

My thanks to Bill Freda, who made Brent, come to life, with his dark good looks and easy way of slipping into character.
Lara Cameron has lived in Ocean Breeze for years. Her next door neighbors, the Westwoods, had a boy a bit older that Lara was, but they had become the closest of friends anyway. Lara and Ted shared secrets with each other they would never have dreamt of telling another, and yet their secrests stayed safely between them. When Ted moved away, Lara was at loose ends, but she quickly moved on to other friends and acquaintences, but always kept in touch with Ted. When Ted's mother sold the house to the Houghtons, Lara was saddened, but it did bring a new face into her life.
Brent became Lara's new best friend, and when she turned 18, he became her lover. Lara also went to the local Community College, to get her degree in Fine Art so she could get a local job at one of the art galleries in town. This was a tactic to dissuede an over-amorous housekeeper with designs on Lara's father. Her advances made them both cringe, but they couldn't manage at the time without someone, and she was the best they had at the time. With the Houghton's sone at Harvard, Lara had time for herself, but Bret came home every weekend to spend time with her, and it looked as if the two of them were headed for the altar.
A scheming mother can put the best of plans out of business, and as it went with Brent, his mother's constant harping about that girl and her wild and slovenly ways took their toll. Brent flew off the handle when Ted came out of the bedroom, where lara had put him due to his height. Not stopping to llisten to her explanation, not taking into account the comfort Lara would want to show a guest, Bretnt called a halt to everything, and the wedding was off. What he would find out later, and what would happen was his fault, and for him, a very sad but valuable lesson learned. Now, with a young son at her heels, and a lucrative job at the St. George Gallery, will Lara even look his way again?
For Brent, the questions remained, who is Christopher's father, and where is he now? Is it too late for him or can he win Lara back?
“Author Kate Hofman specializes in the romance of misunderstandings, writing characters whose emotions and vulnerability run deep. The path of true love never runs smooth for her hero and heroine. This prolific writer is a joy to read, and A FIRE BURNS DEEP is another gem in the necklace of wonderful Kate Hofman stories and a fine introduction to her writing for those who are new to her stories.” read the entire Dark Angel review by Frost

Reynard W. Forsythe is just recovering from serious injuries sustained when his ex-fiancée lost control of her convertible. During his convalescence, his private nurse, Fiona MacIntyre lets him know about the cottage she owns near Ocean Breeze, assuring him it would be a quiet and wonderful place for him to recover. She also lets him know of her wish to sell the place, and offers it to him provided the rest of the private and gated community accepts him as a resident. He buys Fiona’s cottage next-door to one Miss Jane DeVilliers, hoping the quiet atmosphere of the cottage enclave will help his writing.
Jane's niece, Margot DeVilliers Fletcher, is staying with her, doing her housekeeping, and providing some therapeutic massage for Jane's arthritic joints until she can secure a place for herself. She was looking into condo’s in Ocean Breeze, and was considering one owned by Rosalyn MacGregor, the wife of the Chief of Police. Meanwhile, Jane’s neighbor, a noted author, needs someone to type his text into his computer, and Margot decides to go to work for him. This suits her well, because of the insurance her husband had lapsed, and she had very little to live on after the sale of her house and the move to Florida.
Margo and Rey develop a relationship, and as they work together, they find the feelings they have are mutual. When he proposes marriage, Jane is furious because she will lose her willing slave. Acting uncharacteristically, she does her best to break it up, interrupting the young couple, interfering whenever she can. But she can't stop their wedding. Rey is too clever for Jane: he buys a condo in a building famous for its security so that Jane can no longer interrupt them at will.
Rey tells Margot that he'd like to wait a few years before thinking about a child. She agrees with him, only to find out a few weeks later that when she agreed, she was pregnant already.
Margot decides to leave Rey without informing him of her condition, so he can have the life he wants. Meanwhile, Jane’s friends wonder what is causing her to act so out of character. Will Jane succeed in driving a wedge between them, and will Rey allow Margot to leave?

When Miguel spends the weekend with Beau and Lise, he finds himself even more attracted to and interested in Danielle, in spite of his decision not to get involved with a woman again. Miguel was engaged, and all set to be married to whom he thought to be the woman of his dreams. However, on the eve of their wedding his bride betrayed him most cruelly with his best man. Miguel decided he would only consider brief flings now, for he was well and truly destroyed by Joanna’s faithlessness, especially after telling him she wanted to come to him a virgin.
Danielle loves Miguel desperately, a pure and simple case of love at first sight when they met at Beau’s wedding. When passion flares between them, and Miguel succumbs to her gentle entreaties, she lies and pretends she is protected against pregnancy. Danielle hopes to have a child by Miguel and after he breaks off the usually brief fling, she will have a piece of him to love.
But Miguel falls in love and, against his better judgment, proposes. Danielle is devastated in a way, breaking down and telling him the truth about her deception. She tells him of her desire, and that she is pregnant and why. Miguel is incensed, but his honour insists on the wedding taking place for the baby's sake. He is angered, and again vulnerable, hurt, and barely able to be civil to Danielle in public because of her perceived deception.

A big thank-you to Bill Freda, who depicted my Greek Prince on this cover. He brought Prince Lee to life exactly as I imagined him.
The year is 1949. During the Greek civil war, an extremist element pronounced a death sentence on Prince Lysandros of Pátrai, Greece, and although there is now peace, he remains is in exile in France. The threat to his life has not been lifted...
Even though he has family in France, he desperately misses Pátrai, and often travels to the Riviera to vacation. Homesick for the land of his birth, Lee is attracted by, and attends a lecture about recent excavations in Greece. To his surprise, Geneviève de Villiers, Ph.D, the archaeologist, is not only a very knowledgeable woman, but also young and quite beautiful. When he finds she is fluent in Greek, he is delighted. Their time together is too short, and attraction is something Lysandros tries to ignore, even as they travel back to Paris together..
They meet again in Paris, however, and when he sees her home one evening, passion flares between them. Plans are made for Geneviève to visit his home, meet his aunt, and it is then when she discovers things she surmised about Lysandros may not be true, and the man may not be what he claims. There is a secret here, and it seems as though her newfound love has something to hide. She is not prepared for a man of Lysandros status and stature to be attracted to her, and her insecurities rise. She sees competition in the face of the blonde and beautiful Solange Duclos, a woman who is determined to take Lee to the altar one way or another..
When Geneviève takes a bullet meant for him, Lee has to reassess his priorities, and his feelings. Being able to return home after all these years is a wonderful relief, yet leaving her behind is no longer a viable alternative for him, and he feels the necessity to make her his one way or another, even if only to protect her..
Will Lee realize that what exists is between him and Geneviève is true love, and take her with him to Greece, or will the blonde’s charms and murderous relatives succeed in distracting him?
“MY LOVE, FOREVER exposes some of the little insecurities we all have about ourselves. I enjoyed watching the characters grow emotionally as they learned that some of their self-beliefs might not be totally accurate. To watch the innocence of friendship blossom into love and passion is very moving.” read Robyn Robert's entire Once Upon A Romance review
“MY LOVE, FOREVER delivers a story of two people separated by their circumstances but connected in their hearts. The writing in this book is almost whimsical in it’s design. The desire and emotion between the characters is authentic and at times euphoric leaving the audience feeling as if they are a part of the story. She has called on Nissa, asking her to help due to an injury, Louise’s ankle is sprained, and an absent maid. While Nissa is scrubbing, Alexander Karagiannis, Louise’s brother, enters. He mistakes her for the maid, which amuses Nissa, and also allows her a measure of relief. Nissa is finally free of a relationship in which she was badly abused, and is not ready to give her trust or her heart to another man. In the guise of a maid for Louise, she feels has a bit of a buffer, some anonymity and safety.
Alexander quickly realizes his mistake. He is deeply upset, because Nissa impresses him more than he wishes to admit. Louise informs him Nissa never dates, and doesn’t trust men. Not liking the mystery, Alexander is shocked by what he eventually discovers. Nissa’s husband was not only cruel and abusive, but he was also accused of attempted murder, and committed suicide rather than stand trial. Alex realizes he has to go very slowly with this bruised, reclusive woman if he wants his dream to come true. Alexander has fallen in love with Nissa.
Between his need to travel, and the demands of his business, the inevitable insecurities arise in Nissa. The need to hide a pregnancy causes some rocky edges, especially when she miscarries the babe Alex hadn’t known about. Now with a strange woman answering Alex’s phone, Nissa is again wallowing in a world of hurt and misunderstanding. And she is pregnant again.
This time, Alex’s sister steps in to see if she can help the two struggling lovers pull themselves back together again. The question remains for Louise… can she get Nissa to see the light, and to finally put her trust in Alexander?

Castle In Spain

When Jennifer Miller agreed to do research for the Spanish Count Antonio de Ortega de Andrade y de Valdés, she did not expect to be working with such a young, virile and handsome man. Neither did she expect he would ask her to agree to a pretend-engagement, intended to keep predatory women off the Conde’s back while he and Jennifer worked on his book.
Conde Antonio has had his share of women throwing themselves avidly at his feet, but they only bore him. When he hired as his researcher a quiet, unassuming young Canadian woman of flawless professional reputation, he never expected to be attracted to her.
Jennifer and Tony (as he prefers her to call him) are enmeshed in his book, and before they know it they are fathoms deep in a love affair. She believes it means nothing or very little to him; he can’t put a name to the feelings she arouses in him; he believes he’s merely protective of her. As their affair becomes increasingly passionate and all-consuming, trouble looms.
Women try coming on to him, hitting on him even when Tony has his arm around Jennifer. Even Tony’s snobbish housekeeper butts in, trying numerous ploys to get the interloper sent away.
The love that blooms between them seems doomed to failure; a direct counter-point to the book tour’s success. Will Tony come back to Jennifer? Everyone tells Tony she is not good enough, it is not love but infatuation. Ah, but is it? Would a Conde marry his researcher?
“Ms. Hofman handles the weaved delicacies within this story brilliantly. The passion smolders off the pages and the meaning of true love fills each one...” Read Tracey's entire review

“A superb story of finding love unexpectedly, Castle In Spain by Kate Hofman is a true romance for lovers of the contemporary genre. Having recently discovered Ms. Hofman’s works I have loved what I have read so far and know that I will continue to. The hero and heroine in this book have that special quality, that spark that makes the reader fall in love with them...” Sheryl's entire review in Ecataromance Sensual Reviews
“Castle in Spain is a classic will they –won’t they, does he love her – does she love him story. It’s traditional romance where two people love each other but are too unsure of the other’s emotions to give in totally to what they are feeling. I liked all the characters...” Janet Davies's entire review at Once Upon A Romance's Reviews
“This is a very good romantic tale with a bit of the feel of the better Harlequin romances about it. The characters are very well written and so vivid that I could picture and hear them with no problem. Chryso takes Fleur to a private place to calm her; passion soon flames between them and the engagement becomes serious. Fleur’s grandmoher is intent on a huge, costly and ostentatious wedding. There Chryso unwraps his bride and finds Fleur an apt pupil where the erotic side of lovemaking is concerned. In Chryso’s arms, the shy young woman becomes an erotic foil for his passion.
The only question is, can they escape Fleur’s grandmother as she desperately tries to regain the strangle hold she once had on Fleur.
"Greek Fire is a delicious blend of romance, intrigue and sensuality that is sure to capture the hearts of the readers.." ...from Heide Katros, Reviewer for News Chief, Winter Haven, FL.
"Greek Fire is so stirring that it captures the heart in many ways. I simply adored the characters of Chryso and Fleur. I personally did not care for the way Lady Vanessa treated Fleur. A grandmother should be more supportive of her granddaughter. Bravo to Chryso for being the perfect gentleman in every way..." read the whole review from Cherokee, Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance.

Navajo Dreams has been nominated for a CAPA Award.
Dinah Greene’s lifelong love for her dream of living in Arizona drew her to the desert splendour of Arizona’s Grand Canyon country, a place where wild still reigns. A dizzying trip to the Grand Canyon after her cheating and abusive husband’s death finds her in the arms of a handsome stranger, and on the receiving end of a very unusual proposition. On an impulse, she takes the offered room and job as housekeeper and companion in a spacious house on a quiet Canyon road in Sedona. The house, owned by a reclusive artist, gives Dinah the room she needs, and the man gives her something else she has rarely had in her life – friendship.
For Jim Blackhawk, there’s no denying the passionate feelings developing for the quiet woman he has taken in to his home. There is no doubt in his mind she is troubled by something, but instinct tells Jim he cannot and must not push the lovely but sorely wounded creature. She is a beauty, not necessarily in the classic sense, but to him she shines with an innocence he rarely sees in the jaded world of art. He worries about her, and the drive behind the quiet desperation he senses within her. Dinah’s past is a mystery he must slowly unravel, and yet one unforgettable night, Jim surrenders to his feelings and discovers Dinah’s shy response to him hides a very passionate woman who feels the same for him.
Through the mire of familial greed around Dinah, manipulative efforts of a disparaging mother and a jealous ex-girlfriend of Jim’s, the pair fights for the newly formed love struggling to bloom and grow in the desert canyons of Arizona. Jim wants to protect Dinah from those who would rob her blind, and Dinah wants to be sure Jim’s art show is a success. As the artist in Jim fights the darkness in Dinah’s past, they find the strength together to make not only beautiful art, but to show the world what true beauty is found in the harmony of real love.
A Comment from Sheri WhiteFeather from Harlequin Romances on Navajo Dreams:
"I loved NAVAJO DREAMS! You captured the essence and love and hope. It's a beautifully crafted romance with a honorable hero and a warm, likable heroine. Their chemistry felt so real, so right."
"Ms. Hofman did a fabulous job with the scenery. I can imagine myself there it is so vivid. The secondary characters give depth and add humor to the book. The main characters are so real I feel as though I am living there with them, watching the story instead of reading it..." read the whole review from Jenifer, Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance.
"Author Kate Hofman pens a story which has quickly earned its way to my Keeper Shelf. With a lovely heroine and a gorgeous hero, the story surpasses the usual run-of-the-mill romance genre because the author interweaves spirituality and soul, innocence and romance, love and compassion..." read the whole review from Annie, Reviewer for The Romance Studio.
"Navajo Dreams by Kate Hofman is a poignant story of one woman finding her dreams and of the one man that could make her believe in love again. I really enjoyed this novel for the way it portrayed an unconscious friendship into an exceptional interracial love affair..." read the whole review from Sheryl, Reviewer for eCataRomance.com.

Gabriel’s Quest for Love
By Kate Hofman
Genre: Contemporary
Category: Novel
Length: 192 pp.
ISBN: 978-1-921347-25-2
Painter Gabriel Duarte has just returned from a long painting trip in the company of Jade, a charming, high-strung and sexy young woman. When she phones him to say she is pregnant, Gabriel does what he considers the right thing, and offers to marry her and legitimize his child. She refuses, saying she'll go live with her sister, "a born do-gooder," as she puts it. Depressed but unable to force his will on the high-spirited Jade, Gabriel returns to Ocean Breeze, FL, where he lives and paints.
Tasha returns to the law office where she works to give her notice, after dealing with the aftermath of her sister Jade's sudden death. She realizes she will have to give up the job she loves and accept something more part time, such as cleaning jobs with Manuel's Maidens, in order to be able to keep her sister's child with her and be the best mother she can for the infant's sake.
In due course, she is sent to clean for Gabriel, and he is enchanted with the baby. When he finds out the young woman is caring for her deceased sister's child, he hesitantly asks her whether the father of the baby couldn't help her out a little to make things easier for her. Tasha tells him her sister Jade never told her who fathered of her baby. It is then Gabriel realizes he has found his child. And sets out to reclaim the child he has lost along with the caretaker.
Their path to love is not without complications, notably Gabriel's mother, who is viciously unkind to Tasha. And there is Gabriel's spectacular temper...something Tasha is not really used to coping with, and which she does not always understand. Will these two star-crossed lovers and their child be able to find a way to become a happy family of three?
"Kate Hofman’s stories always make me want to curl up in a comfortable armchair and just relax into the read. That’s the kind of books Kate is noted for, and this reviewer is very thankful to note that she is a prolific author with several novels available and more to come." read the 4 Swords review soon from Frost, Independent Reviewer. His site found at JLFoster.biz.
"What a fantastic story with strong emotions of love and trust! Gabriel’s Quest for Love had me so enchanted that I couldn’t stop until I finished it. There were times I just wanted to smack Gabriel for his stubbornness. Tasha is always defending her sister’s actions and sometime I just wanted to shout at her to stop it. Both characters do a lot of growing and find that they love each other deeply..." read the 5 Lips review from Julianne, Reviewer for TwoLips Reviews.com.

Rosalyn Grant’s friends know she hates to be interrupted when she writes, however, on this day she receives a visit from old college friend Julie, who is raving about a gorgeous new man she's met. Julie has big plans for her new man named David. Rose knows how Julie’s impulses go, and tries to get Julie to moderate her actions. She knows not every man wants to see a dinner date turn into a sex festival, but Julie won't listen....
When an elderly lady in Rosalyn's apartment building is murdered, a lie forces suspicion to fall on a man who swears he was at home all afternoon. When Rosalyn is asked to come to the police station to sign her statement, she realizes the dates have been mixed up, because on the day the man said he was home, he had asked Rose to baby-sit his son. The handsome chief of police asks her to amend her statement, and Rose realizes, when she sees the name-plate on his desk, that he is the man Julie wants to seduce. ...
Rosalyn has made a deep, and very good impression on Lieutenant David MacGregor. Now he’s upset at the thoughtless way Julie has treated her friend, but also at the way she disregarded the fact Rose could possibly be in danger herself. He is also now aware of the plans Julie has in store for him, and not liking what he has heard, drives to Julie's home to discuss his problems with her and her attitude, and to say goodbye. Never inclined to take No for an answer, Julie tries to draw Rosalyn into the fray to help her win David back. Rose is confused because David has just invited her for a walk on the beach, and assured her he had broken up with Julie....
David and Rose become more and more involved, and begin a passionate love affair. David invites Rose to come with him on his annual vacation, which he spends habitually in a cottage in Misquamicut. There, Rose is faced with more doubts and an old flame of David's who tries to monopolize him, and trap him with her claims. When they get back, Julie begins her campaign to win David back in spite of David’s warnings to let him and Rosalyn alone...
Will David and Rose be able to withstand all these attempts to break them up?
"This is a very well written love story with an interesting plot and sensitively written but very erotic love scenes.. David and Rose are very real characters. Both are widowed and not really looking for another love, but smart enough not to let one go when they find it. The supporting characters are equally well done and inspire strong emotions. You will love David's coworker Erin and her husband Kieran and Mac and Marcella..." read the four and a half heart review from Maura Frankman, Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance.
"A Greater Love ranks up there with Navajo Dreams in the top list of the always fine offerings of author Kate Hofman. This one too will linger in the reader’s memory...." read the 5 Swords review soon from Frost, Independent Reviewer. His site is found at JLFoster.biz.
"A Greater Love is a fascinating love story between two people who never thought they would find love a second time around. Kate Hofman is a brilliant writer and knows how to keep me turning page after page..." read the
5 Kisses review soon from Julianne at Two Lips Reviews.
"The profound chemistry radiating through the air whenever they are together is proof aplenty that they are meant to be together. The mystery of the neighbor’s murder adds a little extra zing to the plot, further providing an obstacle for our lovers to overcome. The secondary cast ranges from the extremely engaging to the truly reprehensible, adding an extra fullness to the story. Fiercely tender and intensely romantic, A GREATER LOVE is not about the sex but all about the romance..." read the 5 Blue Ribbons review from Scarlet at Romance Junkies Reviews.

For Annabel Browne, the experience at the Swanage & De Villiers party was not all it was cracked up to be, especially after her run-in with Mrs. Driscoll, the firm's resident slut. The fact she claimed the very handsome, classy, and interesting man who spoke with Annabel was not a mystery. The woman would claim any available handsome man if she thought to get away with it, however, for now it is one incident that Annabelle soon forgot. She has friends of her own, plans of her own, and more than one book contracted and so as deadlines approach, she is somewhat content to go back home. She was tired of the necessary publicity rounds in New York anyway, and wanted to be taking up her life in Ocean Breeze, where she lives, and writes, and sometimes wishes for love.
To arrive home, settle in, and just enjoy her writing time. It was a somewhat lonely career, but that was fine with Annabel. She has other friends who are writers, artists, and that keeps her fairly busy with a social life in her own circles. She never thought to actually meet her tall dark handsome stranger, but then the fates are not known for their subtleties, just their quirks and tricks.
Adam Tremayne was definitely not in the best of shape when he returned to his condo in Ocean Breeze. He was glad to get home, but he was sick as a dog. He felt it coming on days ago, but was not thinking it would be any thing serious, but here he was, on his own doorstep, and wondering if he would make it inside. He was forever grateful to Hank St. George, his neighbor, for helping him that night, and more than a bit shocked and puzzled by the young woman Luke MacLean, his cousin, and Hank had hired to nurse and help him through his illness. There was something familiar about her, but he just couldn’t place it.
Now back in the pink, he is shocked and appalled at her showing up to a friend’s for dinner. His reactions to being caught off guard are not pleasant, and he is embarrassed by the vehemence of the result. Now Adam feels apologies are not enough, and yet he finds himself wanting more than just a few hellos and dinners from the shy and retiring young writer.
But as scandal plays in the wind around the couple, old lovers, enemies, and danger stalks the pair with the vilest of intent. The leads us to only two questions... Will Annabel become the resident song in this sensuous poet's heart? Can these two survive to find their own love for all time?
This book contains an extra special collection of romance poetry, from poet Emma Keatley, writing as Adam Tremayne. The poetry contained in the collection is the slim volume of Adam's that Annabel picked out and was reading at the Swanage and De Villiers party.

A big thank-you to C. J. Hollenbach who made Brett Richards real and very sexy on this cover. He is truly Brett's character exactly as I saw him in my imagination.
Blue Lake Castle was a sturdy sight, the central tower imposing, and on first inspection, Brett Richards fell in love. He has the time, and the skills, and so he restores it and decides it makes the perfect home for himself, his father, and a small menagerie of friends. Still pining for a lover who left him, and one he really wants to get over, he is excited when he meets Victoria, a stunningly beautiful woman, with a deeply sensual nature. She intrigues him, and although Brett refuses a one-night stand, he makes sure he meets Victoria again.
After a falling out with her Aunt Delia, Victoria is more than ready to get on with her life, the intriguing offer Brett made to her has appeal and she accepts. Not only is Brett offering her a job as head gardener at Blue Lake Castle. She is reluctant at first, because she knows she is savagely hot for him, and it might not be the most professional thing to do. Brett is not only charming, but persuasive as well, and eventually they begin a torrid affair. Brett's father is glad his son has finally found his châtelaine, but Brett's closest friends wonder whether the erotic nights with Victoria are enough for Brett.
A chance encounter at a fashionable restaurant serves to muddy the waters considerably.
Will Brett be able to forget his old love with a new one?
"As with all Kate Hofman’s novels, Enchanted Castle is a book to curl up with in a comfortable armchair, cool beverage near at hand. A relaxing read and a satisfying love story, with well-delineated characters, Enchanted Castle will beckon the reader to return for another round of visits with Brett, Mark, Jake, Katya, Victoria, and the illustrious housekeeper and comic relief Mrs. T." read the 4 Swords review soon from Frost, Independent Reviewer. Initially pleased at Cordelia's acceptance, Luis begins to feel desire for the quiet young woman who loves Luz. Passion flares between them. Can this grow into true love, or is Cordelia right in believing Luis merely likes having her in his bed?
"This is another fine work by Ms. Hofman with two likeable main characters and a sensual love story with enough complications to keep things interesting. Cordelia can be a little insipid at times, but is likeable none the less. Her growing love for both Luis and his daughter Luz make this warm hearted story an easy read." read the 4 heart review by Maura Frankman at The Romance Studio.
